David and Linda Hutchinson

We lived in the cabin for 4 years (all year long) and got along fine with our pumped water system and the spring box set up. It is not really a hardship to have no running water or electric refrigeration. C'mon and give it try. (No, there are no lighthouses on the Meduxnekeag-this pic is at Port Clyde,ME. )

David

David is a local guy - born and raised in Monticello. He did make it out of the state to Tennessee, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Massachusettes, only to end up back in Maine! David is a Unitarian minister who works parttime at the First Church of Houlton. His interests lie in Zen Buddhism, Ken Wilbur, and Tai Chi when he is not stacking wood or pumping water. David splits his time of being a minister with living in the woods, drinking a cup of coffee by the ropebridge, watching and listening to the life around him in the woods. He built and was the original owner of what is now the Blue Moose Restaurant. David is a poet, a builder and a musician. His father told him he'd never find a woman to live in the woods, but his "Backwoods Recluse" days were numbered!

Linda

Linda is originally from North Berwick, Maine. Her work in retail led her to Connecticut for a few years where she decided to return to school for her Masters. Her new work in Residence Life led her to New Paltz, NY where she found yoga. She left her job to teach yoga full time as well as run a B&B for friends in the New Paltz area. Finally, in 2000 it was time to return to Maine after 13 years and she moved to Houlton from New Paltz to start yoga classes. She met David in a yoga class and well, the rest is history. She told people she was "following her heart to Houlton"...little did she know she would find such a wonderful partner as David.

Cooper

Cooper is a "Labracoloodle"!! He's a four year old Black Lab, Collie and Standard Poodle!! He's very friendly and good natured, shy, people and dog friendly and his only drawback is that he is a kleptomaniac. He feels a strong need to take things that are lying around, especially hot dog bun packages. Please keep food in the cabin, in a cooler or in the garbage.

Ella

Ella is an Old English Sheepdog and she's the newest addition. She is four years old and was sort of a rescue dog. She is very friendly with people as well, but she is the "in charge" dog and takes a bit more time to get used to other dogs.
