The living area is small and cozy, near the stove and the kitchen table. There is also a mini stereo with radio and CD player. The electricity is powered by one solar panel and 4 deep cycle batteries. Limited lights are available, flashlights provided. Dart board and darts included (feel free to bring your own darts!)
Bedroom
Includes a double bed, dresser/mirror, propane thermostat controlled stove, a closet (not seen) and a commode for quick clean up (not seen). Towels, linens and blankets provided.
For the summer, we provide a mosquito net as a "bug free" zone if necessary. There is a fold up bed for an additional person if needed.
We provide a great heating box style wood stove -new this year! For cooking/baking purposes, we have an apartment size gas stove. Make the basic beans n franks OR try a stir fry or an egg/potato fritatta with some fresh herbs!! Located to the left of the gas stove is a small counter top with cabinets above and below. The basic kitchen supplies are provided: plates, cups, mugs, cooking and eating utensils, variety of pots, cast iron frypans, potholders, wash basin, strainer, dish soap... There is a spring-fed well that provides great drinking/cooking/bathing water, but there is no running water. A pitcher and basin work for a quick clean up or you could prepare an outside or inside shower.
Our water system is a hand pump from a spring fed well. It is great drinking water, cooking water & bathing water. **This means there is no running water in the cabin** There are alternative cleansing possibilities: pitcher/basin for quick clean up, sauna for deep cleaning, outdoor sunshower set up or indoor hulahoop shower (a little pre-set required).
