ON THE PROPERTY: CROSSCOUNTRY SKIING trail is about 45 minutes from beginning to end for a quick ski. There's plenty of open field for additional ski time and if the river is safe and frozen, it is a fabulous way to see the area. OFF THE PROPERTY: MAINE WINTER SPORTS centers located in Presque Isle and Ft. Kent offer their Olympic quality trails to the public. AROOSTOOK STATE PARK also has groomed trails. Several sections of the Rail Trail system are also groomed.

Ski, Soup & Sauna

When the river freezes, it is a great place to ski for all levels. David and Linda will prepare 1 or 2 soups with sourdough bread from County Junction Bakery and hot tea/coffee. David will take everyone out for a river ski for a few hours, come back for soup, maybe go out for another ski and end the day with a sauna if you choose (bring your bathing suit). Come with one or more friends. We can accommodate up to 10. The fee is just $15 for the day or $20/couple. Get away for the day without going far!

We welcome responsible Snowsledders. The cabin is located very near the trails. The Blue Moose Restaurant is also very close by. Trail access to PJ's Gas Station is handy, too.

ON THE PROPERTY: RIVERWALKING is so fun as the river can get quite low in places and there so many interesting rocks and other natural things to explore! BIRDWATCHING-bring your binoculars and your bird book as you could spot several birds. SWIMMING at the swim hole is refreshing and invigorating! Bring water shoes as the bottom is slippery and rocky. HIKING a short 45 minute trail on the property is great for small children. CYCLING on the Rail Trails is easily accessible from the cabin. FISHING can be done on the river. OFF THE PROPERTY: MORE HIKING via the Rail Trail system and the International Appalachian Trail which can be picked up in downtown Monticello. AROOSTOOK STATE PARK is about 45 minutes north in Presque Isle.

We welcome responsible ATV-ers. Trails are nearby, though no longer a direct route from the property, but easy enough. The Blue Moose Restaurant is very close. It seems that ATV rentals are hard to come by, you will need to bring your own ATV.
